Life is a far too precious thing to waste. "Life, Liberty, and the Persuit of Happiness" The last two are always seriously taken into appreciation. What about the first one though. People who feel that abortion is the mothers choice or is something that is a wonderful thing... please tell me where you are coming from, because it is no where in the region of sanity.
After the moment of conception the fetus has dna. Living things have dna, so to have an abortion is killing that child. If you were to kill a baby animal such as a puppy or a cub you would get busted by the police with a beautiful fine as well as jail time most likely, yet that is not so for a human child. Calling it an embryo to make it seem inanimate does not work. An embryo is the fetus of an animal. (aka: a BABY)
If someone was to come up to you and kill your two year old child you would be devistated if you had any portion of a heart, so why would you let them kill your child when it's inside you. It has a life, it has a soul, it is your flesh and blood. There are thousands of couples that can't have children and would be more than willing to adopt. With that being said, then why wouldn't you give that child a home where they would be loved? If your mother had been debating on whether to have an abortion performed on you wouldn't want the chance to live?
If you decide to have an abortion because you're not ready or you "didn't use protection" that is your own fault and you have quite the nerve to have your child pay the cost for your mistake. The best type of birth control is NOT having sex until you are ready to support a family. Humans or the only species that "mate" for recreation. IF you do choose to sleep with someone before you are ready for such a step then you should be all means use protection. Even then there is still a small percentage of the protection not working. When that happens you have to except the consequences that YOU screwed up, not the child. If you don't want anything to do with the child or know that you can't raise the baby then do the responsible thing and put it up for adoption.
Now, what about rape victims. Rape is a horrible scarring thing that haunts you for many years after if not for the rest of your life and if a child is the product it is even harder to handle. Abortion was seen to be the answer for pregnacies that were due to rape. There is a story I would like to share with you though. In the mid 70's there was a beautiful young woman who was on her way to a bright future. One evening while walking home she was taken, beat, and brutally raped. A week later she found that she was pregnant. Family, friends, and school mates were telling the young woman to have an abortion. The young woman considered it thoughtfully but thought of how there was a couple she knew that was devistated when they found they couldn't have children. She thought of how, if she put this baby up for adoption, it could be given a wonderful home with a loving family and could have all the opportunities to be great. The young lady had made up her mind and suffered nine months of ridicule and horrible words and when the baby was born she knew she had made the right choice. The baby girl was hard to give away but she knew she had to do what was best for her daughter. The baby girl was adopted by a young couple in Minnesota where she was given everything in the world. She grew up to be a strong, loving, and successful woman. This woman was the motivational speaker that told me this story and travels the U.S. speaking to teens about pre-maritial sex and effecting many young lives.
It is the mother's choice but it shouldn't even have to be. If there is any love in their hearts they will let their child live to become great people. How many doctors, teachers, presidents, CEOs, parents, olympic champions, mechanics, engineers, and artists have we lost just because their mothers decided to have abortions. You have a choice. Choose LIFE.
